- Back in the Good Old Days when Sun still shipped a C compiler with their
- computers, it was a K&R compiler. Mind you, this was the ancient days of
- SunOS 4.1.x.
-
- Nowadays you have to purchase the compiler from SunSoft (it's called
- Sparcworks C now), but it's a very decent ANSI C compiler.
-
- If you're using a Sun with SunOS 4.1.x, you probably have a K&R C
- compiler, which means you should use it to compile gcc. If you're using
- a Sun with Solaris 2.x then there is an ANSI C compiler available but it
- costs some money, which means you STILL might find yourself running gcc.
-
- I know this isn't appropriate for c.l.c but I couldn't let an incorrect
- post (Sun ships only a K&R compiler) go uncorrected.
